St. Wenceslaus Catholic Elementary School is a Nebraska State Accredited Catholic Elementary school tucked away on a tree filled campus in West Omaha. We are located at 15353 Pacific Street and reside within the Millard School District. Our school has been voted Best Private Elementary school by Best of Omaha in both 2018 & 2019 and "Superstar Catholic School" by Spirit Catholic Radio (2018 & 2019) as well as Omaha’s Best in 2018. We are also proud to have had our principal, Mr. William Huben, recognized as the Archdiocesan Administrator of the Year in 2018.
Since St. Wenceslaus School opened its doors in 1985, we have had a rich tradition of providing excellence in academic and religious education. Our curriculum integrates religious values with core academic subjects such as Religion, Literature, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, as well as specialty programs including Spanish, Computers, Library, Music, Physical Education and Art. We offer electives in a wide variety; chess club, art club, musical instruments, choir, coding club, computer club as well as boys and girls sports.
Our achievements are a reflection of our dedicated staff and the over 900 students, represented in Preschool through 8th grade. Our very committed families travel from numerous areas that surround Omaha including Valley, Bennington, Millard, Bellevue, Papillion, Gretna and LaVista. Our community prides itself on a welcoming environment, strong academic achievements, and a strong Catholic faith. We have alumni of St. Wenceslaus, continuing the tradition with their own children.
Our school personnel consists of 47 certified teachers, 26 instructional paraprofessionals, 3 dedicated full time resource teachers, 3 administrative staff positions, 1 full time principal and 2 full time assistant principles. We have 71% of our teachers who hold master’s degrees or beyond and the average teaching experience is 19 years. The student to teacher ratio is 17:1. Our standardized test scores consistently rank us well above average in comparison to local schools, both private and public.
St. Wenceslaus is one of the largest parishes and schools in the Archdiocese and is currently undergoing construction of a new church to accommodate our growing community. In 2018, we added an addition to the school with 6 new classrooms. This addition created much needed space to expand our preschool program and create a dedicated day care for our Preschool and High Five students
