Julie Phillips

Assistant Principal (Preschool–4th Grade)


Julie Phillips is in her second year as Assistant Principal for Preschool–4th Grade at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School, bringing more than twenty-three years of experience across public and private education. With a background that includes teaching grades K–8, serving as an interventionist, and supporting instructional development, Julie is committed to strengthening school culture, fostering collaboration, and supporting student success.

In her role, Julie oversees daily operations for early childhood and primary grades, curriculum and instructional support, and the development of consistent, fair expectations for students. She works closely with teachers, students, and families to ensure a safe, respectful, and faith-filled learning environment. She also assists with hiring, oversees assessments, and leads initiatives focused on academic growth, communication, and schoolwide improvement.

Before joining the administrative team, Julie served the St. Wenceslaus community as a Resource Teacher/Interventionist. Her prior experience includes teaching 4th grade in Omaha Public Schools and 5th grade at St. James/Seton School, shaping her student-centered, supportive approach to leadership. Her broad classroom background enriches her understanding of learner needs and strengthens her ability to mentor and guide teachers.

Julie holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Nebraska Omaha, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and an Educational Leadership Certification from UNO. Known for her empathy, consistency, and collaborative spirit, she is dedicated to helping teachers thrive and guiding students to reach their fullest potential in a nurturing Catholic environment.
