R.C.I.A.

  • Would you like to know more about the Catholic Faith?
  • Have you been thinking about joining the Catholic Church?
  • Are you a baptized Catholic who has not received the sacraments of Eucharist & Confirmation?
  • Are you a practicing Catholic who would like to share your faith with others and learn more about the Church?

If you answered "YES" to any of these questions, then take a look at the ST. WENCESLAUS R.C.I.A. PROCESS!

The RCIA PROCESS (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the process of welcoming new adults into the Catholic Church and initiating them as members through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. For those already baptized, the rite is adapted to respect the dignity of baptism already received. The process is one of sharing, believing, praying, learning and serving with other members of our parish community.

For whom is the RCIA process intended?
In general, adults who wish to become members of the Catholic Church fall into 3 groups:

  • those who have never been baptized;
  • those who have been baptized in other Christian faiths;
  • those baptized Catholic, who wish to complete their initiation through the sacraments of Confirmation & Eucharist.

Sponsors:
Fully initiated Catholics (those who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist), who are in good standing, may participate in the RCIA process as a SPONSOR of someone who wishes to become a member of the Catholic Church.

Sponsors:

  • offer encouragement and support;
  • are parish members who are willing to share what the Catholic faith means in their lives;
  • are not expected to be experts or to have all the answers.
