Evangelization is a very broad concept, which includes not only missionary proclamation but also catechesis, pastoral care and sacramental life. It is the whole process whereby individuals and parish life are transformed in the light of the Gospel.
Evangelization is the work of the whole church. It involves the active participation of all laity, religious, and clergy. Every believer is required to take an active part. It is essentially a work of love. That love consists of our continually giving our hearts to the Lord and, in turn, giving our hearts and experience of Jesus to one another.
To partake in St. Wenceslaus Parish evangelization ministries is to do much more than just share doctrine, tradition and memorized passages from Scripture. Our ministries strive to touch someone’s heart, mind, and imagination with the Risen Lord. That encounter becomes so significant that the person begins to reinterpret and redirect his or her whole life around Jesus. Through Baptism, your child becomes part of the St. Wenceslaus faith community in the Catholic church. Through your teaching example, your child will grow to become a follower of Christ and an active member of the church. This is why we have a special program to prepare parents and godparents and to help them understand this important responsibility. To register for classes, contact the parish office.
