What is Pastoral Ministry?
Pastoral Ministry is the area of the Church responsible for the care and service of human needs, whether they be spiritual, physical, educational, or financial.
Mission Statement
"He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them.
Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him"
- The Good Samaritan, Luke 10:34
As a parish we have the responsibility of reaching out to people. Sharing God's
love was a task not only given to the disciples thousands of years ago, it was given
to each one of us today.
It is the goal of Pastoral Ministry:
- To provide creative, concrete, challenging methods to assist those in need in our own parish and those in the larger community.
- To provide awareness and education in the answering of the parable question, "Who is my neighbor?"
- To provide support, encouragement and assistance to the parish as we try to answer the question, "What will I do?"
- To assist the people of St. Wenceslaus to gather in our diversities, embrace our struggles, to experience our unity in Christ and to refresh and renew our commitment to serve.
What does Pastoral Ministry offer the members of St. Wenceslaus?
The Pastoral Ministry Office:
- Provides professional marriage, family or individual counseling services at no charge.
- Ministers to those terminally ill or suffering the loss of a loved one.
- Assists in times of emergency with financial or care needs.
- Provides in-services, community building, spiritual growth and mental health opportunities.
- Assists the parish in the area of works of charity and social justice.
