Thank you to all of you who stopped down in the social hall on the weekend of May 20-21 to see the proposed plans for the new church. For those of you that missed that opportunity, the pictures that were on display that weekend are pasted below. There is also a video that was emailed to the parish on Tuesday, May 23 that is on the home page of the website. You will find it as the first picture on the main slide show.

As Catholics, we recognize all that we have – our time, our talents, our resources, even our lives –are gifts from God. We are called to be good stewards of these gifts, investing them wisely and generously. The continued support we receive from parishioners is very much appreciated. Obviously, financial support is very important to the growth of our church, its programs and ministries.

As an alternative to the traditional method of using sacrificial giving envelopes, please consider the additional benefits and flexibility of our recurring credit card, automatic bank account (ACH) and online payment options.

Recurring credit card, ACH and online payment options costs you nothing and provides many advantages to both you and our parish.

      Parishioner Benefits

  • No need for writing checks
  • Financial planning allows you to align your parish’s offertory schedule with your paychecks
  • Allows you to give even if you are unable to attend parish services
  • Contribution amount is easily adjusted
  • Credit card option allows you to take advantage of any benefits  such as airline mileage or cash bonuses

 Parish Benefits

  • No check processing fees
  • Increases regular giving with recurring contributions
  • More accurate revenue forecasting
  • Reaches a wider demographic of givers
  • Accommodates special parish collections and missions
  • Use recurring credit card or ACH payments in conjunction with offering envelopes

Your consideration of using online giving and automatic payments is greatly appreciated. As you can see, it has many benefits that serve both the parishioner and our parish.

Illness is never easy, especially if it is life threatening.  Knowing you or your loved one could be very ill and have much suffering is difficult to say the least.  Sharing your concerns, experiences, heartaches and joys can lift the load.

Hearing how others have coped, struggled and survived can make a world of difference.  The Cancer Support Group offers time to share with others who have cancer or are caring for someone with cancer.  The group is facilitated by two nurses from our Nurse Ministry group and meets on the third Wednesday of the month.  Contact Bev Vazzano at 402-758-1350 or Mary Eileen Andreasen at 402-991-3425.

The Bereavement Committee reaches out to support those in our parish who have lost a loved one.  Each family who has contacted the parish requesting prayers at the weekend Masses for a loved who has died receives a card, Carenote and support information from the committee.   Volunteer handle the Bereavement Box for a month and send out the correspondence to the family.  Those who are suffering from a loss appreciate the parish acknowledging their loss and expressing comfort and concern.  If you have any questions or would like to join the committee please contact Suzanne Dewey at This email address is being protected from spambots. A Caregiver is a person who takes on at least some part of the responsibility for the welfare of a loved one who is sick, elderly or disabled.  Some caregivers start off by assisting a loved one with their finances, cleaning their house or helping them get to and from their doctors appointments.  Or, a caregiver might immediately take over assisting an elder with bathing, getting dressed and going to the bathroom.  A caregiver may live in the same house, or reside 2,000 miles away.  They may be taking care of aging parents, an ill spouse, or three children and a parent at the same time.  Whatever the situation, caregivers often have little support or help with their situation.  Sharing with other caregivers can ease the stress and frustration that often accompanies care giving.  The Caregivers Group meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at 1:00pm.   If you have any questions or are interested in joining this group please contact Mary at This email address is being protected from spambots. St. Wenceslaus offers a 12 week grief program called “Understanding Your Grief” for those who have lost a loved one.  Following the program many participants like to continue the support of the group by attending monthly meetings.  You can attend the monthly meetings without attending the 12 week program if you like. Sharing with those who have gone through similar circumstances can be very helpful and healing.  Knowing you are not alone is comforting.   The monthly meetings are held at 9:00 am and 4:00 pm on the first Monday of the month.  If you have any questions or are interested in joining this group please contact Mary at This email address is being protected from spambots. The Prayer Shawl Ministry offers much comfort for those in our parish who are suffering a loss or who are ill.  As the prayer shawl is being made our volunteers pray for comfort and healing for whoever will receive the shawl.  The shawls are also blessed by one of our priests so the recipient is covered with prayers and blessings when they wear the shawl.  Many use the shawl frequently and are so grateful for the gift of kindness and caring.  The group meets the 1st Thursday of the month.  If you have any questions or are interested in joining this group please contact Ruth at This email address is being protected from spambots.
